Perpetual Motion Magnets and Free Electricity: Too Good to Be True?

There is a wealth of material available about perpetual motion magnets and how they generate free electricity.

But, are these claims true?

Well, it depends on which camp you follow: the believers or the non-believers. There are plenty of both.

First of all, let’s take a look at how perpetual motion magnets are supposed to work to produce free electricity, using the much touted Magniwork model:

There are three magnets inside the motor of the Magniwork. The third magnet pulls the sides of the other two magnets. The idea is that if you put two magnets of opposing poles together, the two will resist each other and never come to any kind of terms with each other. As long as these two magnets are resisting each other, the perpetual motion motor will run.
